Alumnae Association Board of Directors

Mission Statement


The Alumnae Association Board of Directors provides volunteer leadership for the Alumnae Association by working with the Saint Mary's College community to design and promote opportunities for alumnae to connect with each other and the College. In doing so, the Board serves the College in the ongoing development of a strong Alumnae Association which supports and advances the mission of Saint Mary's College.

President

Kelly Walsh '01
Philadelphia, PA

Kelly Walsh graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree is Statistics and Actuarial Mathematics.  She received her MBA from the University of Notre Dame in 2010.  She has been working for CNA Insurance since graduation.  She began her career in the corporate headquarters in Chicago before moving to Philadelphia in 2010.  In her eleven years with the company she has held various positions in both the actuarial and underwriting departments.  Kelly is currently the Branch Underwriting Manager for the Philadelphia and Reading Branches.  Kelly was an active member of the Chicago East Alumnae club chairing events that included New Student Sendoff and a day at Arlington Race Track Fundraiser for the Endowed Scholarship.  In 2006, she was awarded the Outstanding Young Alumna Award. She is now the Contact person for the Philadelphia Club.  She resides in Conshohocken, PA.

Annette H. Isom '83
Glen Ellyn, IL

Annette Isom graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and minor degrees in Math and Computer Science. She also attended graduate courses in Systems Management at the University of Southern California. She began her career in Information Technology at Ford Aerospace & Communications Corporation after graduation. Since that time – she has worked in information technology, marketing and consulting positions at TRW, United Stationers, Natural Gas Pipeline, Chicago Options Board and AT&T. Annette is currently an AVP with AT&T in the Consumer & Mobility Marketing group and is responsible for post sales customer communications and legal/regulatory compliance. She stays close to Saint Mary’s with involvement in on and off campus activities. Annette lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and has two college aged sons.

Kelly Cook Lewis '97
Gambrills, MD

Kelly Cook Lewis graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1997 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Management. After graduation, the active duty Air Force kept Kelly and her husband, Chad, moving around the world for 12 years, allowing them to live in Europe, Asia and 8 continental states.  During that time, Kelly worked in the marketing field for 7 years and then became a stay-at-home mom for their daughter, Riley.  Volunteering for Riley’s school, their church, Saint Mary’s College and the Air Force remains a priority for Kelly and she was honored to be a 2009 Luke Air Force Base “Volunteer of the Year” nominee.

Janyce Dunkin Brengel '78
Chicago, IL

Janyce Dunkin Brengel graduated from Saint Mary's College in 1978 with a double major in French and Business Administration/Economics. Since graduation she has held various positions as a buyer In women's fashions, pharmaceutical sales representative and for the past 27 years she has been employed at ConvaTec , a medical device company, as a Region Sales Manager. Jan is the Past Chair of the Madeleva Society Steering Committee and she is active with the Chicago East Alumnae Club. She is also a member of the Saint Mary's College Chicago Advisory Council and a member of the Holy Cross Parish Council in Deerfield, Illinois. She resides in Lake Forest, Illinois, and her son, Thomas, enjoys a successful career in law enforcement.

Frances Broderick '10
Fullerton, CA

Frances graduated from Saint Mary's with a degree in Political Science IN 2010. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue a graduate degree in Congressional and Presidential studies from the Catholic University of America. While living in D.C. Frances worked for the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) where she worked in the College Fairs Department. Frances assisted the department in planning college fairs throughout the country that were free for high school students and their families. In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles to work for the Catholic Education Foundation first as the grant writer and then as Coordinator of the Alumni Network, where she lead a mentorship program for 25 first-generation college students. Currently, she works for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, assisting the Archdiocese to raise funds for low-income parish communities. Frances also serves on the local coordinating council for the Los Angeles Alumnae Club and participates in young alumnae events.

Lisa Maglio Brown '78
Berkeley, CA

Lisa Maglio Brown graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1978, earning a B.A. in Elementary Education, with a minor in Italian.  She went on to pursue two graduate degrees, earning an M.A. in Education and a Juris Doctorate.  Lisa completed a federal clerkship with the Hon. James F. Merow, Judge, U.S. Court of Federal Claims, in Washington D.C., where she subsequently continued practice as an attorney for the U.S. government, specializing in government contracts law.  Lisa went into private practice with Seyfarth Shaw LLP and then Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, where she focused on government contracts litigation.  She has been active in local government and she held several posts, including serving as a planning commissioner.  Recently, after her career in law, Lisa joined Santa Clara University as Chief of Staff to the Dean of the Graduate School of Theology.  She enjoys spending time with her daughter, Callie, who will graduate from Saint Mary’s in 2015. Lisa resides in the San Francisco Bay Area where she is active in alumnae club leadership.

Sarah K. Brown '05
Charleston, WV

Sarah K. Brown graduated magna cum laude in 2005 with a BA in Philosophy and Political Science and minors in Women's Studies and Economics. She received a Juris Doctorate from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC in 2008 and completed a judicial clerkship with The Honorable Martha Craig Daughtrey, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, in Nashville, Tennessee. Along with her husband, Kevin Baker, Sarah is a founding member of the law firm Baker & Brown, PLLC, in Charleston, West Virginia. Sarah now practices law with the non-profit law firm Mountain State Justice, representing low-income West Virginians facing home foreclosure. Sarah is also a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Charleston, focusing on racial injustice, and volunteers with the Friends of Clay Center. Sarah enjoys cooking, baking, reading, running, and traveling.

Dr. Kelly O'Shea Carney '84
Coopersburg, PA

Kelly O’Shea Carney graduated summa cum laude in 1984 with a degree in psychology and a minor in philosophy. Following graduation, she served as a Holy Cross Associate in Portland, Oregon where she worked with older adults. Following that experience, Kelly earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology with a focus in Geropsychology from Southern Illinois University in 1990. Since that time, she has been serving older adults in a variety of clinical capacities. Currently she is the Executive Director of Eldercare Services for the Center for Excellence in Dementia Care at Phoebe Ministries in Pennsylvania. She sits on a variety of Boards related to aging, including the American Psychological Association Committee on Aging and the Pennsylvania Behavioral Health and Aging Coalition, and is an active member of her local parish. Kelly and her husband, Gary, have three children in college, and in the college search process for her children, Kelly has become convinced that there is no place as wonderful as Saint Mary’s College. She looks forward to Alumnae Board meetings as a good excuse to visit our lovely campus!

Lauren Condon '06
Woodridge, IL

Lauren Condon graduated from Saint Mary's College in 2006,with a major in English with a minor in Secondary Education. Following graduation Lauren accepted a teaching job at St. Rita High School on the south side of Chicago. At Saint Rita, Lauren taught freshmen and sophomore English and Creative Writing. She also moderated Student Government and the Drama Club. In 2009, Lauren left St. Rita and took a position at her alma mater, Benet Academy, in Lisle, IL where she currently teaches American Literature and Speech, Advanced Speech, Advanced Composition and Themes in Word Literature. Additionally she directs the school musical and is coordinator of the underclassmen retreat program. In 2012, Lauren graduated from Dominican University in River Forest, IL with a Masters degree in Educational Administration. Lauren currently resides in Woodridge, IL except for the summers when she heads to southwest Michigan to serve burgers at Redamaks and relax by the lake.

Jennifer Paluszak Hadden '96
Bexley, OH

Jennifer Paluszak Hadden graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1996 earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in English Writing. While at Saint Mary’s, Jennifer was involved in the Volunteers In Support of Admission (VISA) program, served on her Sophomore Class Board and was Junior Class President. Following graduation she worked in the marketing field for eight years prior to earning her Master’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2006. Additionally, she has assisted the admission office at college fairs and contacting applicants, and has worked on the Reunion Gift Campaign Committee. While Jennifer is a licensed social worker, she stays at home full time with her little boys, Harry and Bruce. She also serves as the president of the Columbus Metropolitan Library Friends of the Library, volunteers with the St. Catharine of Siena Church and School, and fulfills her duties as a sustainer with the Junior League of Columbus. Jennifer is married to JB, and they reside with their boys in Bexley, Ohio.

Kate Murray Harper '89
Lincolnshire, IL

Kate HarperKate Murray Harper graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1989 with a B.B.A. degree in Accounting. Following graduation, she joined KPMG LLP where she spent 20 years, including 8 1/2 as a partner. While at KPMG, Kate served as Co-Leader of the Washington DC/Tysons Corner chapter of the KPMG Network of Women as well KPMG’s Partnership Council and led fundraising efforts for Junior Achievement of the Washington, DC area and the United Way of the National Capital Area. Kate currently serves on her local school district’s PTO Board as well as Learning Fund Foundation. She supports Saint Mary's College through visits as an alumnae speaker on campus, hosting students to her home and the Madaleva Society. In 2008, she was awarded the Outstanding Alumna Accounting Award. Kate lives in Lincolnshire, IL with and her husband, Scott, and their three children.

Katie Harrison '04
Pittsburgh, PA

Katie Harrison graduated in 2004 with a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies.  She received her Juris Doctorate degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 2008.  After graduating from Duquesne, Katie completed a clerkship with the Honorable Maurice B. Cohill, Jr.  in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.  In 2010, she joined the law firm of Campbell & Levine, LLC as an associate.  Her law practice is focused on commercial insolvency matters.   Katie is active in several professional, pro bono, civic and charitable organizations. She is an active member of the Pittsburgh Alumnae Club and volunteers at college fairs on behalf of the College. Her sister Markie (’15) is a current student at Saint Mary’s.  Katie resides in the city of Pittsburgh.

Angeline Johnson '07
South Bend, IN

Angeline Johnson graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 2007, earning her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing, Management and International Business. Angeline began her career with 1st Source Corporation as a Corporate Trainee in Management, and is currently working in Cash Management specializing in business products online. As a 1st generation college student Angeline worked to assist others in also reaching their full potential through numerous high school mentoring programs, college recruitment of underrepresented backgrounds and raised awareness on campus by way of multiple student clubs and boards. As an undergraduate Angeline was president of La Fuerza, president of the Student Diversity Board, initiated the annual Hunger Banquet on campus, and Co-Founded the Diverse Students’ Leadership Conference in 2005. She was recognized for Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism during the 2007 YWCA Tribute to Women, and also received the 2007 Down the Avenue Spirit of Service award. Since graduating Angeline has been involved in planning a Multicultural Alumnae Group for Saint Mary’s College, while also volunteering time with the STAR program and various children’s activities at the Center for the Homeless in South Bend, Indiana. Angeline is currently remodeling her 1st home and planning a wedding with her fiancé David W. Daley.

Kristen Matha '03
Indianapolis, IN

Kristen Matha graduated from Saint Mary's College in 2003 with a major in political science and a minor in women's studies.  While a student, she served as vice president of the student body, student trustee and was a four-year women's basketball student-athlete.  Following graduation, Kristen received her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and was admitted to the Indiana bar.  In 2006, she joined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and is currently an associate director with the academic and membership affairs staff where she focuses on internal operations and providing interpretative guidance to member institutions.  In 2013, she received the Alumnae Association's Outstanding Young Alumna award.  Kristen is a member of the Belles Varsity Club and also serves as a member of the GALA-ND/SMC board of trustees.  Kristen and her partner Kendra live in Indianapolis' Meridian Kessler neighborhood.

Genevieve Morrill '98
Chicago, IL

Genevieve Morrill graduated from Saint Mary's College summa cum laude in 1998 with a double major in history and French. While a student, she served on the Board of Governance and the Student Academic Council; participated in the Play of the Mind Conferences and the Leaders of a New Indiana Project; and was awarded the St. Catherine's Medal. Genevieve then received a Masters Degree in Medieval History from the University of Chicago. She subsequently attended DePaul University College of Law, where she graduated in the top five percent of her class and was an Editor of the DePaul Law Review. During law school, she externed at the federal district and appellate court levels. After being admitted to the Illinois Bar, Genevieve served as a law clerk to four justices of the Maine Superior Court. Following several years in private practice, she became a law clerk to Illinois Appellate Court Justice Rodolfo Garcia. Currently, Genevieve is a Staff Attorney in the Appellate Court's Research Department. She is also an adjunct professor at DePaul, where she teaches Legal Analysis, Research, and Communication. Genevieve is active in the Chicago East Alumnae Club, and served as its Communications Chair for 10 years. She co-chaired Founders' Day and the Spring Tea, organized and hosted cultural, social, and scholarship events, and participated in numerous committees. In 2005, she received the Chicago Club's Founders' Day Award in recognition of her service to the Club and in 2008 she received the Alumnae Association's Outstanding Young Alumna award. Genevieve and her husband Nathan Kay live in Chicago's West Bucktown neighborhood. They enjoy sampling Chicago's restaurants, half-marathons, travel, and renovating their 120-year-old two-flat.

Kelly Ivcevich Noga '92
Indianapolis, IN

Kelly Ivcevich Noga graduated in 1992 with a degree in marketing and management. Upon graduation, she worked as a marketing assistant for Anglian Water in Huntingdon, England. Following that experience, Kelly was in sales for a medical text book publisher and in economic development for the City of Indianapolis before earning her MA in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University in 2000. Since that time, she has managed the marketing departments of a commercial real estate developer and two law firms. Currently, Kelly is the marketing director for the law firm of Lewis Wagner, LLP. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Women’s Fund of Indianapolis OPTIONS Alumnae, the Lauth Group Foundation and John H. Stewart Foundation for Disadvantaged Children. She has enjoyed hosting the Saint Mary’s College Indianapolis Club’s Founders’ Day dinners and Freshman Send-Off events and attending her reunions. Kelly is an active member in her local parish and children’s schools.  Kelly and her husband, Drew, have two daughters. As a female marketing professional, Kelly owes a great deal to the formative experiences that defined her years at Saint Mary’s College. The education she received provided her with the knowledge and confidence to create three marketing programs from the ground up. The opportunity to give back to Saint Mary’s College by serving on its Alumnae Board for her is both an honor and privilege.

Priscilla Karle Pilon '86
Houston, TX

Priscilla Karle Pilon '86 graduated with a major in Communications and  Government and a minor in Sociology. Currently she is a professional food and travel writer for Upscale Living Magazine, The Daily Basics Magazine, The Daily Meal website, Travel Squire website and her own site, The Weekend In Paris. Previously Priscilla worked as a freelance graphic artist, where she worked as a design editor for the Harvard Business School weekly newspaper and co-published The Student Guide to Harvard Business School in 1994. Priscilla is a past President of the Volunteer Roundtable at MD Anderson Cancer Center, past Director on the Board of The Forest Club, and a past Executive Board Member of the Houston Ballet. She has been active in the Houston Alumnae Club since arriving in Houston in 1994. She co-chaired the Ann Plamondon Endowed Fund in Communication Studies for The College. Priscilla resides in Texas with her husband and two sons.

Sandra A. VanGilder '76
New York, New York

Sandy Van Gilder graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1976 with a double major in French and Mathematics, including spending sophomore year in the Angers, France through the ND/SMC program.  She is celebrating the 40th anniversary of that study abroad experience at a reunion in Angers, France with many of her ND/SMC classmates from that year.  Following graduation, Sandy earned her MBA from the University of Chicago and spent over 30 years as a senior executive in the financial services industry.  After retiring from banking, Sandy earned an executive coaching certificate from New York University and is principal of her own executive coaching firm specializing in helping women advance into top corporate roles.  In addition, Sandy has a special interest in diversity having created and led a diversity effort at JPMorgan Chase and providing pro-bono coaching to attendees at the annual Multi Cultural Working Mother’s Conference held in NYC.
Sandy has led fundraising efforts for her class at Saint Mary's and is a member of the Madeleva Society.  She and her husband live in New York City and are the proud parents of 2 daughters and 2 sons-in –law.
